use the /multimon switch on the mstsc.exe command line. Note that I don’t have a dual monitor setup at the moment so the option is grayed out. Tick the option use all monitors for the remote session in remote desktop client display option.

Furthermore the rest of the existing kiosk software relies on the monitors being two separate monitors so this option also seems like it isn't viable. You can enable Multimon option using one of the methods below to open remote desktop.

Setting the kiosk display to span over the monitors, treating both displays as halves of a larger one allows the program to run at full screen at reasonable speed, but this option now means that both displays are treated as part of the touch screen which makes the touch screen unusable as it cannot be calibrated when half of its touchable display is on a regular non-touch screen. Whenever I try parsing \.\DISPLAY1\Monitor1 to ChangeDisplaySettingsEx I get DISP_CHANGE_BADPARAM - e.g. MultiMon Pro finally has XP looking taskbar & monitor switching buttons (ironically, just as XP begins its fade into history), which is welcome, but the buttons still appear on apps like WinAmp and Windows Media Player. My guess was to detach the second monitor and then try and figure out a way to reattach, so I started trying to detach as per (v=vs.85).aspx but I can't get any of this to work.
