He is susceptible to the Sleep status effect. Zargabaath will cast Bravery on Judge Gabranth and Judge Bergan and he will aggressively heal Judge Gabranth. He is susceptible to Sleep, Sap, Stop Slow and Disease. Thankfully, he does not have much HP so he is the easiest of the Judges to defeat. He is arguably the most dangerous of the Judges and most strategy guides (including this one) recommend taking him out first. Ghis can Dispel your party members and inflict heavy-hitting status effects. You will have to deal with his attacks throughout the fight. Unlike Bergan, however, Gabranth is essentially immune to negative status effects. Much like Bergan, he will attack your party members with standard physical attacks. Gabranth, Basch’s brother, is the second of the front-line attacking Judges. She is weak to Immobilize (among other status effects). Shock will hit your party members for a ton of damage. Once each of the other Judges has all three of these status effects cast on them, Judge Drace will begin casting Shock on your party members. He is weak to Sleep, Stop, Slow and Sap.ĭrace is one of the three support Judges – she casts numerous buffs on the other Judges including Protectga, Shellga and Hastega.

He has a fairly high amount of HP and takes quite a bit of damage to defeat. Similar to the battle against him at the top of Mt Bur-Omisace, he will just wail away on your party members mindlessly. In order to do that, you need to understand the mechanics behind each of the five Judges and what to watch out for.īergan is one of the front-line attacking Judges.

B-teams real job was to hold off the enemy long enough to revive A-team if they all went down. The key to successfully completing Stage 100 of Trial Mode is keeping control of the fight – managing all of your party members but also keeping all five of the Judges under control. Penelo could still heal with spells, so she was kind of a healer, but most healing was done with items.

None of them were ranged fighters so they had to be able to take the full force of the enemy the entire battle. They were all able to take a lot of damage while dealing damage back. Stocking up on Ethers was vital for A-team because they relied on their Magick, and once that was gone they would go down fast. Whenever Ashe fell or ran short on MP, both Fran and Vaan could heal and revive with their white Magick. Vaan doubled as a tank, using his spear for melee attacks.Īshe was our healer, she rarely did damage and was usually healing and casting buffs on Vaan and Fran. Fran was able to hang back with her bow, and magic keeping her away from most of the damage. Black Magick spells were imperative to taking down large waves of enemies quickly.

All of the enemies you have faced in the game will appear in the trials at some point, and the strategies to beat them are going to be the same, if not very similar!Īfter a few runs, we came up with a pretty solid team that worked well together.Īll 3 were able to deal a significant amount of damage while using heal and revive spells, which saved the Potions and Phoenix Downs for later on when times got tough.įran and Vaan were in charge of dealing damage for the team. Strategies will drastically change as you go along. Keep in mind that the Trials were designed so they could not be defeated with just one set of gambits. Healing spells and AOE attacks will be the name of the game when it comes to trials. Be prepared for everything, because that is exactly what you will be getting. Others like Disease and Stone can be detrimental to your team and will need to be cured immediately. Ones such as Blind and poison aren't all that terrible and can easily be cured with magic too. You will be bombarded with negative status effects as you go. Physical items will be just as important to sustaining your team. You should have your Mage healers with you, but you can't only rely on them to do all of the healing.

Your mages won't be any good to you without any MP, and it is very difficult to naturally let your MP restore itself.

There are no shops available in Trial Mode, and you can only use what you bring with you. You will want to stock up on lots of items before heading in.
